Zadar, here we come! Situated right in the heart of the Adriatic coast, the city can be easily reached both by road and air. To make your arrival as smooth as possible and for you to easily kickstart your holiday, check out the following advice on what to bear in mind during your trip and which is the most convenient way to explore the city:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The right way \u2026 for you<\/span><\/h2>\n

Prefer to reach your destination as fast as it gets? Zadar airport makes it possible! With flights from numerous European destinations including Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Ireland, England, Italy, Spain, France, Sweden, Norway, Holland, Belgium, Poland, Czech Republic, Serbia and Israel, you can be in the city in just a few hours. Once on land, you can catch a taxi or get an Uber ride as well as take a shuttle bus to the city centre.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

If you like to drive, the quickest and the cosiest route includes the motorway (A1) heading south. From the Gori\u010dan border crossing with Hungary, it takes just under 4h to reach Zadar, from the capital Zagreb and the Bregana border crossing with Slovenia you need approximately 3 hours, which is also how long you\u2019re on the road from the border crossing\u00a0 Rupa, near Rijeka.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Plitvice<\/p>\n

Should you prefer to take it easy and enjoy the scenery along the way with occasional stops, then consider the Adriatic Highway that follows the coastline or D1 state road parallel to A1 and going past Plitvice Lakes National Park. Unlike the motorway, these two are toll-free.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Whichever option you choose, just remember to consult the traffic report and stay updated about\u00a0 road conditions. Croatian Automobile Club (HAK) is a good source of information, as is the Google maps with real time traffic conditions.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Parking arrangements in Zadar<\/span><\/h2>\n

Expect a walk in the park? Unless your hotel provides a parking space for its guests, as does the Mediteran Hotel, it might be challenging to find the right spot to leave your car. Also, if you choose to go by car to the historical peninsula for some sightseeing, get ready for traffic congestion and limited number of free parking places as well. In other words, it is advisable to find other ways to reach the city centre.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Getting<\/p>\n

Getting around the city\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

Set off on your trip of discovery! Explore the city by bike (rental available at the Mediteran Hotel) or a scooter to move around. If you like to take your time in seeing the sights, why not also just walk? It takes about 45 minutes to reach the Roman Forum from the Mediteran Hotel on foot, unless you use a shortcut and opt for a <\/span>barkajoli<\/span><\/i> boat ride across the bay. In case you don\u2019t have time to spare, you can always just grab a taxi or an Uber and in 10 minutes you\u2019re there.<\/span><\/p>\n
