Alfred Hitchcock was an English film director and possibly the greatest film director of all time. He was also known as  ” Master of Suspense “. Mister Hitchcock once said : ” Zadar has the most beautiful sunset in the world, more beautiful than the one in Key West in Florida, applauded at every evening. ” Those were his very words during his stay  in May 1964. Who are we to argue with the master of cinema.

A BEAUTIFUL STONE PROMENADE<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

 The best place to admire this wondrous occurence is the Riva ( a beautiful stone promenade ). Take a stroll starting from Fo\u0161a harbour all the way to the Sea Organ. The Sea Organ is an object where architecture meets music. It was designed by the architect Nikola Ba\u0161i\u0107 and it was opened to the public in 2005. The idea is that the organ captures the movement of the waves and transforms it into music. The experience changes depending on the weather conditions. The mesmerizing sounds of the Sea Organ make a great soundtrack to enjoy Zadar’s  glorious sunsets. Sitting on the white marble steps on a warm August evening you will find yourself surrounded by people from all over the world. Couples holding hands, parents taking photos of their children  and elderly spouses gazing at the horizon. They are all waiting for the sun to go down and when it finally meets the line that separates Earth from sky they start clapping . Indeed it is a performance that deserves a standing ovation and luckily it takes place in this beautiful coastal town every evening. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Greeting to the sun<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It does not matter when you visit, sunsets in Zadar are spectacular all year long. In fact they are so beautiful that they deserve a monument. They have one, right next to the Sea Organ. It is called Greeting to the Sun, an amazing installation made out of 300 photo-sensitive glass plates that absorb daylight anf turn it into colorful light show at night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
